{"id":1352,"date":"2018-09-07T21:45:28","date_gmt":"2018-09-07T21:45:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/askalocalapp.com\/Tel_Aviv\/EN\/?p=1352"},"modified":"2020-06-18T15:46:03","modified_gmt":"2020-06-18T15:46:03","slug":"where-to-stay-in-tel-aviv-for-eurovision-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/askalocalapp.com\/Tel_Aviv\/EN\/where-to-stay-in-tel-aviv-for-eurovision-2019\/","title":{"rendered":"Where to stay in Tel Aviv for Eurovision"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Eurovision song contest 2019 is coming soon to Tel Aviv, The semi-finals will be on 14 and 16 of May 2019 and the final on Saturday, the 18th of May 2019 in <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/RrvfpC6vXTs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tel Aviv Fairgrounds<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Tel Aviv Fairgrounds also called Expo Tel Aviv (International Convention Center) &#8211; &#8220;Merkaz HaYeridim &#8211; Ganei HaTa&#8217;arucha&#8221; (Hebrew \u05d2\u05e0\u05d9 \u05d4\u05ea\u05e2\u05e8\u05d5\u05db\u05d4 &#8211; \u05de\u05e8\u05db\u05d6 \u05d4\u05d9\u05e8\u05d9\u05d3\u05d9\u05dd).<\/p>\n<p>The Euro village is going to be in <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/sR6CeXzLb2D2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Charles Clore Park<\/a> near the city centre\/Jafa on the beach.<\/p>\n<p>As we know from previous\u00a0Eurovision events, it is recommended\u00a0to book your accommodation\u00a0as soon as possible and especially in Tel Aviv, which is,\u00a0in general, a bit more expensive than other European cities (comparing for example to Lisbon 2018).<\/p>\n<h2><div class=\"embed\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube-nocookie.com\/embed\/NyOEh17jb0Q?rel=0\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/div><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Expo Tel Aviv &#8211; International Convention Center\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Tel Aviv Fairgrounds, where the show supposed to be held, are located in the north-east of Tel Aviv, not very far from the city center, but still not easy to walk on foot.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to stay in a walkable distance from the Fairgrounds, then good choices are the Tel Aviv university\u00a0area, Bavli (\u05d1\u05d1\u05dc\u05d9) are or Yehuda Hamaccabi (\u05d9\u05d4\u05d5\u05d3\u05d4 \u05d4\u05de\u05db\u05d1\u05d9) area. It is hard to find hotels in this area but you can find apartments\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.booking.com\/apartments\/city\/il\/tel-aviv.en-gb.html?aid=816183;label=eurovision2019-appartment\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">booking.com<\/a>, and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.awin1.com\/cread.php?awinaffid=205505&amp;awinmid=3617&amp;clickref=Eurovision-Appartments&amp;p=https%3A%2F%2Fuk.hotels.com%2Fsearch.do%3Fresolved-location%3DCITY%253A699178%253AUNKNOWN%253AUNKNOWN%26f-accid%3D15%26destination-id%3D699178%26q-destination%3DTel%2520Aviv%2C%2520Israel%26q-check-in%3D2018-09-09%26q-check-out%3D2018-09-10%26q-rooms%3D1%26q-room-0-adults%3D2%26q-room-0-children%3D0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">hotels.com<\/a>\u00a0(both offer a great selection\u00a0of private rooms and apartments in Tel Aviv, not just hotel rooms &#8211; and from our experience tend to be very reliable). Or use\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.anrdoezrs.net\/links\/7511264\/type\/dlg\/https:\/\/www.homeaway.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">HomeAway<\/a>\u00a0which is a website for renting large flats (in Israel and all over Europe)<\/p>\n<p>Public transportation on Saturday is usually off, but Tel Aviv Yafo municipality said there will be special buses and shuttles during Eurovision.<\/p>\n<p>Tel Aviv doesn&#8217;t have an underground\/metro system, but the city center is walkable, and there are buses and taxis you can use.<\/p>\n<p>Tel Aviv Fairgrounds are also very easy to get to by train. The closest station is &#8220;Tel Aviv University station&#8221;.\u00a0 Trains do not operate on Saturdays (in Israel, Saturday starts on Friday evening and end on Saturday evening) but do run almost 24hrs on weekdays (great for the Eurovision semi-finals). The train ride is only 1 to 3 stops from the center of Tel Aviv stations: Savidor Center (\u05ea\u05d7\u05e0\u05ea \u05e1\u05d1\u05d9\u05d3\u05d5\u05e8),\u00a0 Hashaloma (\u05d4\u05e9\u05dc\u05d5\u05dd) and\u00a0 Ha&#8217;Hagana (\u05d4\u05d4\u05d2\u05e0\u05d4).<br \/>\nThis is also an easy solution if you decide to stay in cities outside of Tel Aviv, for example, the train station of the city of\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hotelscombined.com\/Place\/Herzliya.htm?a_aid=147122&amp;label=Eurovision\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Herzelia<\/a> is only 7 minutes ride from the Tel-Aviv University and\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.hotelscombined.com\/Place\/Netanya.htm?a_aid=147122&amp;label=Eurovision\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Netanya<\/a>\u00a0(\u05e0\u05ea\u05e0\u05d9\u05d4) is about\u00a0 23 min away and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hotelscombined.com\/Place\/Ramat_Gan.htm?a_aid=147122&amp;label=Eurovision\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ramat-Gan<\/a> (\u05e8\u05de\u05ea \u05d2\u05df) is close to Tel Aviv city center stations.<\/p>\n<h2>\u00a0Gay-friendly hotels in Tel Aviv<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/askalocalapp.com\/Tel_Aviv\/EN\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/AskALocal_logo_GayTelAviv-01.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1354\" src=\"https:\/\/askalocalapp.com\/Tel_Aviv\/EN\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/AskALocal_logo_GayTelAviv-01-300x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"151\" height=\"151\" srcset=\"https:\/\/askalocalapp.com\/Tel_Aviv\/EN\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/AskALocal_logo_GayTelAviv-01-300x300.png 300w, https:\/\/askalocalapp.com\/Tel_Aviv\/EN\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/AskALocal_logo_GayTelAviv-01-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/askalocalapp.com\/Tel_Aviv\/EN\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/AskALocal_logo_GayTelAviv-01.png 531w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 151px) 100vw, 151px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>LGBT &#8211; Tel Aviv is a very gay-friendly city (considered to be the gay capital of the area and a popular gay destination in general), you will feel it in the streets, in the cafes and restaurants, and on the beaches (Hilton beach is especially known for being the &#8216;official city gay beach). Hotels in Tel Aviv are very welcoming for gay couples,\u00a0 and getting a room with one bed is not an issue at all.<\/p>\n<p>There are no specific gay areas\/streets in Tel Aviv as all of the city center is very gay friendly.<br \/>\nWe are expecting the city center to be very festive, with a lot of gay\/Eurovision fans in the week of Eurovision even if the Eurovision will be in Jerusalem.<\/p>\n<h2>Tel Aviv hotels and apartments by neighborhoods<\/h2>\n<p>Tel Aviv Centre and the neighboring areas, offer a variety of places for you to stay during your visit, and the Euro
