The whole area of Ben Yehuda St. (בן יהודה) is usually full of foreigners – residents and tourists – particularly in summer (which is quite a bit of the time in Israel). It is right by the strip of hotels on the beach, and with time also became popular with a lot of immigrants, mostly from North America, the UK and France. Stroll down the street, and you’re sure to find more than enough pubs to go to.
However, there are a couple of places that are particularly popular among Americans, where you are less likely to bump into Israelis. These are Mike’s Place on 86 Herbers Samuel St. (הרברט סמואל), right by the end of Allenby St., the beach, or the US embassy, and the English Pub – ironically owned by an American guy, not too far from Mike’s Place, on 16 Allenby St. (אלנבי).
