Café Tamar, open since the 1940’s, has become with time a pillar of Tel Aviv’s heritage. Open Sunday through Friday from 7am till 8pm on 52 Shenkin St. (שנקין), it is the perfect place for simply chilling with a cup of coffee, watching the city goes by.
It was always home for Tel Aviv’s artistic milieu, and in the 1990’s, it even got a hit song written about it (by who’s now the Israeli Minister of Finance) and about the days Shenkin St. was the place to be in Tel Aviv.
>> As much as we all love hummus, Tel Aviv has a lot more than that to offer in terms of food and drinks – that’s what we are here for. >> Feel free to ask us more specific questions via the Ask a Local app.
