Mercure hotel on 14 Ben Yehuda St. (בן יהודה) is also pretty good and puts you closer to the city center, still being quite close to the beach.
If you continue further north up the beach, you get to Renaissance hotel, on 121 Ha-Yarkon Street (הירקון), right by the beach, and with a lovely spa.
