Mimouna, a traditionally Moroccan-Jewish feast, marks the end of the week of Passover (Pesach; פסח), during which, according to Jewish tradition, chametz (bread and all its by-products) is prohibited.
This year, Mimouna is celebrated on April 21st, and just in case you haven’t been invited to a traditional Mimouna, there are still plenty of places around Tel Aviv where you can enjoy delicious moflettas and great Moroccan music and dance.
One of the best concert venues in town, Barby (בארבי) on 52 Kibbutz Galuyot Rd. (קיבוץ גלויות), is hosting Israeli rock legend Knesiyat HaSechel, with Hayim Uliel and Shay Tzabari, for a night of rock-oriental fusion.
Another option, out of many you can find around is local bar Tapalé’s massive Mimouna hafla (party) on Ibn Gabirol St. (אבן גבירול), with Moroccan-style band Sfatayim (שפתיים).
